To encourage Federal aviation safety officers to improve their skills and knowledge, the GSA and ICAP are sponsoring the Federal Aviation Safety Officers Program. Under this program, the ICAP will issue a certificate of training to any aviation safety officer who can meet the program's training requirements. In awarding the certificate, GSA and the ICAP recognize that an individual aviation safety officer has completed specified training requirements, but neither GSA nor the ICAP can attest to any individual's competency. The Aviation Safety Officers Program requires both initial and recurrent training.
