This presentation includes a discussion of organizational factors that contribute directly to aviation accidents, and more specifically “pilot and crewmember error” type accidents. The role of “crew resource management” is explored in depth as it directly relates to aviation accidents. The fact that organizational factors are often overlooked or unidentified by aviation accident investigators in the field will be thoroughly discussed during the presentation. Speaker:

An interesting and entertaining presentation that will explore psychology as an integrative field including perception and attention, cognition, physiological, experimental, industrial/organizational, clinical, and educational psychology. The presentation includes applying psychology to the aviation field including the pilot's tasks, pilot selection, cockpit designs, human-computer inter-action, training, program management, and human performance.
